It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎵 ! You know where I’m going with this! It’s time for Christmas Markets, and Montreal does not disappoint! What’s better than sipping hot cocoa or mulled wine on a chilly eve surrounded by Christmas decorations, local shops, yummy treats, and the smells of wood fires?
I look forward to this time of year, it just brings me so much joy, and I’m ready to welcome winter with arms wide open. Yep, I’m one of those crazy fans of winter, but that’s for another day.
Here’s the list of 7 Christmas Markets that will take place in and around Montreal in 2023:
Christmas Markets in Montreal:
Le Grand Marché de Noël aka The Great Christmas Market
Le Grand Marché de Noël will be open (mostly) from Thursdays through Sundays from the 25th of November until the 30st of December at the Quartier des Spectacle. There will be over 60 local exhibitors, multiple restaurants, and free animations.

Le Village de Noël aka Montreal Christmas Village
The Montreal Christmas Village will take place Fridays through Sundays at the Atwater Market from the 30th of November to the 24th of December. Over 50 local exhibitors are expected to be present, and multiple free animations for families are planned, including a kingdom of elves.

Le Marché de Noël de Jean-Talon aka Jean-Talon Christmas Market
The Jean-Talon Christmas Market will take place, as the name indicates, in the Jean-Talon Market. It will be open on Fridays through Sundays during this period. Around 15 local exhibitors are expected to be present with lots of snacks.

Christmas Markets in the North Shore
Marché de Noël de Laval aka the Christmas Market of Laval
The Christmas Market in Laval will be back at the Centre de La Nature. It will take place over 2 weekends, from the 1st to the 3rd of December and from the 8th to the 10th of December. Over 50 different local exhibitors are expected with food trucks and animations. You can also purchase your Christmas tree from there.

Christmas Markets in the South Shore
Marché de Noël et des traditions de Longueuil
The Marché de Noël et des traditions de Longueuil is expected to be animated with music and host more than 70 exhibitors. It will take place over 4 weekends, Fridays through Sundays, in November and December.

Christmas Markets less than 1h away from Montreal
Le Marché de Noël de L’Assomption
Located 45 minutes from Montreal, the Marché de Noël de L’Assomption will be open Thursday through Sunday from the 24th of November to the 23rd of December. There will be over 70 different local exhibitors to check out.

Le Marché de Noël de Joliette
Le Marché de Noël de Joliette, located 1 hour away from Montreal, will be open Thursdays through Sundays from the 30th of November until the 23rd of December. The market will celebrate the heritage of the Lanaudiere region through food and music. Santa will be ready to welcome kids as well.
