I tend to travel overseas once a year to see my family. Now we all know these long 12-17h flights can be tiring (to say the least), so you need to make it easier on yourself. Throughout my travels, I perfected my “must-have” list for a smoother ride. If you’re interested in my light packing tips or my essentials for easy packing, check the posts I wrote on this blog.
Neck Pillow
Well you don’t want to arrive at your destination with a sore neck! I’ve had my doubts about neck pillows. But the more I travel, the more I discover that any flight longer than 5h will require one. Even if you don’t sleep on the plane, it will provide the needed support.
Noise Canceling Headset
Noise canceling headsets are priceless. Is the engine too loud? No problem. Crying baby on board? No problem. A loud snoring passenger next to you? No problem. Headphones in, world out, as they say! Make sure to get some with a flight adapter so you can connect it to the plane’s screen to watch some series or movies.
Fanny Pack
Fanny Packs are great for keeping the items you need handy such as your passport, phone, wallet, etc. When you are on board a plane, you are required to store the items in the bin or under the seat in front of you. Having a fanny pack will ensure you have the needed items within reach.
A Jacket or Sweater
Never get on a plane without one. It might seem obvious to some, but not all will remember to carry a jacket, especially in the summertime. It is cold on board, and blankets are not always provided, so be sure to have one to keep you warm.
This covers the 4 items I always carry on a plane! Do you have extra items? Let me know in the comments below.
Safe travels!
